Youth Empowerment Success Services, Inc. (YESS) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that was established to provide a solution for youth homelessness of youth aging out of the foster care system. YESS was founded to assist older foster youth transition stably into adulthood. Youth Empowerment Success Services (YESS) mission is to provide youth ages 18-24 in the Metro Atlanta area with affordable and stable housing, practical life skills and an identifiable support system to propel them toward their future goals.
YESS envisions a world where transition aged youth live in communities with safe and affordable housing; they are educated and employed with life sustaining skills and a lifetime of supportive adults and resources to help them create a successful future.
Ebony Harris is the Chief Empowerment Officer and Founder of Youth Empowerment Success Services, Inc. (YESS). Ebony is a philanthropic entrepreneur and human services leader with over 25 years of experience in the child welfare field in both the public and private sectors. Her focus of expertise is transition aged youth between the ages of 16-24. The vision for YESS came from Ebony's desire to end homelessness for youth aging out of the foster care system and her 'youth whisperer' abilities. She has a way of encouraging young people to become their best selves.
Ebony has an in-depth knowledge and working experience of the federal John H. Chafee legislation, Education and Training Vouchers and Georgia's Independent Living program policies and standards. She has worked in Illinois, Florida, and Georgia's welfare systems. She was also an Authorized Training Provider of the Casey Life Skills Assessment and consultant for Casey Family Programs for several years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Organizational Management and is a Certified Life Coach. She is a self-proclaimed “Foster Youth Crusader” who believes that all foster youth have greatness inside. Ebony is a national speaker, trainer, life coach and consultant who equips youth services professionals with tools to help youth succeed. |
